Chart review is a valuable technique to assess clinical practice; when used correctly, it provides detailed insight into treatment knowledge and skills, emphasizing areas of strength and needed improvement. This pilot evaluation project used chart review for these purposes, working with local HIV-treating clinics to determine training needs and identify post-training improvements. The approach was used by 20 clinics across Florida. The following technical assistance guide was developed to showcase the innovative evaluation techniques conducted by the Florida/Caribbean AETC. This evaluation "package" provides step-by-step instructions to AETC programs seeking to use this tested evaluation approach.
